i would say depending on what u ride in. if its trails or fields anything with tall weeds rocks or loose sand the bottoms wont last long and depending on the color u prolly wont notice any scratches on the top. as far as the polished im not real sure cuase im not all up on the polish stuff.

powdercoating a-arms is not a good idea, weekens them. go with chrome.

??? Really?

umm no, the chromeing process makes metal weaker. powder coating them and having them heated at the proper temp may mess with the molicules in the metal but by no way does it make it weaker, if the metal got so hot it was glowing, then it would make it weaker, but powder coating is alot cheaper then polishing or chrome and alot more durable then just regular paint. just my thoughts though. later

Powder coating does not affect the metalergy (molecular properties of the steel) and typically the temperatures are under 400 deg. F.(not hot enough to re-temper quality grades of steel) Chrome on the other hand is done with electrolisis and can induce "hydrogen embritlement" releasing of the hydrogen molecules from the material being chromed, leads to brittle steel depending upon the composition ( chromeoly, chrome silicon, chrome vanadium, etc..) Bottom line = powder coating is good if done correctly, Chrome is dangerous at best depending on the properties of the material being used.
