Blue Duece Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 yeah it works fine sometimes and idles for ever but yeah the idles high enough for sure its just like hitting the kill swish try backing the idle knobs on your tors all the way out and resinking the carbs by turning them back in to set the idle..........and clean your air cleaner.....you can get a vacum built up if its trying to breath and cant Quote
Banchetta Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 Adjust the air screws and see where they like to be at....what size pilots are you running?? Quote
wheeleymaster99 Posted January 17, 2004 Author Report Posted January 17, 2004 i'm running 30 piolets and 290 main Quote
Banchetta Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 Try a smaller pilot, has it always done this since you change the jetting or just started recently? Quote
wheeleymaster99 Posted January 17, 2004 Author Report Posted January 17, 2004 no its ran fine for 2 mounhs with this jetting Quote
spoin39 Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 Wheeleymaster99: Open up the throttle cover cap, see the red/black button that the throttle hits when you let off? Take a knife and cut it off so the throttle doesn't hit it when you let off. Or you can take all that shit off by disconnecting it, but this way is easier. Hope this cures the problem. Quote
wheeleymaster99 Posted January 17, 2004 Author Report Posted January 17, 2004 alright sounds cool i'll try it but i was wondering what does that botton do? Quote
Banchetta Posted January 18, 2004 Report Posted January 18, 2004 Part of tors. Throttle over ride system......Might as well disconnect the rest also. Little black box above the left exhaust..disconnect the plug...parking brake switch on the left handle bar, follow the wire towards the gas tank to a plug, disconnect it....wires for carb tops, disconnect at the plug, but not necessary....If the jetting was fine for 2 months then it should be fine.....If disconnecting the tors doesn't solve it, then pull the carbs off, separate the bowls, and clean them w/ compressed air.... malibu-bandit Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 the same exact thing happened to me. it ended up being the switch in the TORS shit on top of one of the carbs. banchetta is right, unhook it. Quote
