ruff_rida69 Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 ok as most of you know i had something go wrong in my motor and i need new pistons, my question is im at .80 over right now on my cylinders, the cylinders are fine but the bore is completly wore out and i need a new bore, how safe would it be to go to .90 over with new pistons? frocashmoney24 Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 you have one more bore with is the .90 before you have to go to a big bore set, it'll make your cylinder walls thin thou Quote
SICK BOY Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 I think you can bore Banshee cylinders to .100 over, and then you have to resleave. Quote
ruff_rida69 Posted January 11, 2004 Author Report Posted January 11, 2004 I know i can go to .100 but will i have any problems? I always heard not to go over .80. Thanks for the help, Jonathan Quote
FoxBansheeRacing Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Going more than .80 over really isn't all that reliable and it will overheat much easier. If you have an aftermarket head this should be a problem. Quote
Minkia38 Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 yes - it gets much hotter much quicker! since the walls are so thin - they warm up faster, cause theres not as much metal to disipate the heat - to save a buck or 2, id do it, but if you want reliability, and can afford it, get new cylinders, or have them resleeved.
