Hi my banshee 350 is leaking oil from the bottom studs that hold the cases. Any recommendations to fix the leaks. Possibly drain the oil and spray some brake cleaner in the threads then Yamabond?

First, wash the bike excessively. We can’t tell you how many times we’ve seen people thinking it’s an oil leak….. when in reality, it’s their carbs leaking mixed fuel onto the top case, and draining through the cases drain hole and evaporating, leaving the oil to weep onto the studs you’re speaking of.

check that first

Did you use an oil and fuel resistant gasket maker on the cases? If the gasket maker is disintegrating, it can cause a leak. If there is a crack or imperfection in the mating surfaces or something causing oil to leak through the case to the stud, you can just fill the hole with yamabond, but that could cause issues down the line; its better to get it welded and milled down to be even with the case.

After riding all weekend, I placed my ninety eight Banshee within the returned of my truck and took it home. When I arrived, I observed a small pool of Oil on the bed of my pickup and started to search for the leak.
