InFlames Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Its very easy to take apart the water pump and inspect the internal components like the primary gear and most important that plastic impeller that might have melted a bit. Quote
Creole Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 When my water pump went out my bike overheated and started smoking from the radiator almost instantly. Upon inspection I found that the bearing seized up and it tore the gear apart. Hope this helps from newbie banshee rider. Quote
TREELIZARD Posted January 4, 2004 Author Report Posted January 4, 2004 hey guys thanks for the replies i think im just going to have to tear it apart and find out exactly what the problem is because the radiator started smoking just like creole's did. hey creole how hard was it replacing the bearing and gear i think that im just going to go with a aftermarket impeller.
