grounded Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Milled stock?prodesign? ADA? What about frying the orings on the coolheads? I 've heard of this happening to more than a few people. Oh, bike is dunes only and always has 100LL in it. Quote
bignasty1 Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 noss is by far the best looking performing and quality head wise. but the best head i got was from my ex girl mandy. Quote
raxen Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 The best head for a shee isn't made any longer. Trinity used to make a head that had 2 plugs per cylinder so you had to run four coils but it was worth it. I sold that shee long ago and miss it. Great head, the best I've ever had. Quote
BitchenBanshee Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 My opinion is that the milled, stock, polished head is the best.. I hate them damn O -rings and I can install a stock one about 10x faster than an aftermarket. Funny thing is that the water temp doesn't change between the two that much!!! I owned stock, pro design, and Noss. The stock is just much easier to install and I have never had a gasket leak with it!! Quote
Chemical Castration Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Oh man I know I'm gonna get sooo much shit for this but IMO the best head is an RKT head. Its a bit of a hassle to get one because you have to give him all of the specs of your engine, but each head is custom made to your engine. I also like the NOSS heads they have fins in them that redirect the coolant path they cool better than the pro design one, Plus they accept the Pro Design domes so it wont be hard to get a new set of domes when you need em. Minkia38 Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 i never heard of that trinity head - do you have any pics or info? Quote
Dragg-on Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I got COOLHEAD and their are lots of nice ones out there like NOSS Machine, but if I can do it over agian, I would mill the stock head to 50 thousands, polish it and add acorn nuts. O rings are a hassle Quote
grounded Posted December 29, 2003 Author Report Posted December 29, 2003 Thats the same that I have heard.... that the temps really don't change much with an aftermarket head. Also the potential for leaks is increased . Quote
Meat Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 How are the O-rings a hassle ?? You smear some grease in the grooves in the head, you place the O-rings in the greased grooves, you install head. Iv had my Noss head for about 3 years now and iv blown one dome O-ring. Quote
grounded Posted December 29, 2003 Author Report Posted December 29, 2003 Don't really know , my rm 250 uses 2 orings to seal the head instead of a gasket, Have done 3 top ends with no problems . I am just hearing this from former banshee owners as well as some guys at work that have 'em. Quote
FadedDreams Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I've had some trouble with my Pro Design head, but haven't really heard too many others have problems. But if your going to get one,i would get a Noss head. Also Lefty,do you really have a RKT head,if so,how do you like it. Quote
boonman Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I have my stock head right now, shaved, and I love it. But, once I get my Stroker motor built, I will be switching to a Noss head. It will just be far easier to get the domes cut with an aftermarket head vs. stock. For the money, shaving your stock head can't be beat. it simply can't. Quote
