bigstink Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 ive seen clear coolant hoses on eba before and thought they looked pretty trick and wanted some. I went to the arizona sand expo and i saw many banshees there with them on and asked about them, the guy said he just got the hoses at home depot and the max temp on them was 185 degrees. I came home and did the same got the hoses and put them on, along with the blue engine ice radiator fluid. I looks way tight and havent had any problems with them at all, they get wat soft when i am riding but all hoses do. I just thought i would tell people about this cheap trick way to make you banshee stylin. Quote
Wallrat Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 I dunno man. 185 degrees is kinda cutting it close. I've got an 18 fin cooler and no mods besides k&n and pipes and I can hit 200 degrees when I'm riding hard. I usually run about 190 unless I'm just cruising. With those hoses, you won't be able to mod your engine much. Quote
bigstink Posted December 24, 2003 Author Report Posted December 24, 2003 well this banshee i saw at the show was straight drag banshee, i asked the guy if it would get too hot and he said no they hold up fine, i havent had trouble. Whats the worst that could happen? Quote
raxen Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 I used to run some like that from a HVAC store that were rated to 260 degrees. The brand was called rerspurvs, I think they were imported from who only knows were but they worked very well. Quote
ikikazz Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 just because they are rated at 185 dosent mean the will xplode at that they will be fine up to 250 or so and if it gets to 250 the hoses are the least of your problems... if you know what i mean Quote
got1banshee Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 I have seen those setups also, and they sell diff. color die to change the colors. Antifreze already is a green color how does the die change the green to red or what ever color you want or do you have to use strait water? Quote
grounded Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Alba action sells a kit for 80 bux I think . They have rubber inserts at the end of the hose. One of these inserts tore on a ride in glamis, pissing red dyed coolant all over my alpinestars and motor. Replaced it with the stock hose and still have the other clear one on there. Quote
NYUK Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 i`m looking for clear ones also,if anyone knows where i can get them that would be great. not the low temp ones.the high temp ones. also what is the diameter of the hoses? i will try graingers.they gotta have something like that. Quote
