I know nothing about them. I was told you could just buy a small cam from Radio Shack and velcro it to my helmet with a wire running to my digital cam in a backpack ?? Is it really that easy. Will the picture suck ??? Clueless minds want to know

spend the extra dough on a better resolution one. I believe I got mine from helmetcamera.com It's 420 or 480 lines of resolution. When you blow it up to full screen its still a really clear shot. Well worth the extra money. Personally I got sick of taking my camcorder with me and then never shooting anything because I was to busy riding.

Dont worry about getting a fanny pack, just put the camcorder in a backpack, try to find one with a waist clip for it so the backpack wont bounce from the bottom. You have to make sure your camcorder has video input as well.

Hey, I was curious as to which camera you're using? I was about to go buy a helmet cam too because I'm sick of carrying around the camera and not shooting any video. I looked all through Circuit City and Best Buy but couldn't find any cameras with an A/V input. THANKS for any help!

EEESHH!! Around here, those 2 stores charge a little** more than everyone else for electronics. I hope CC is better in TN than it is here.

Unfortunately, it is the same way here. Big $$$$$$$ for the same stuff you find online for almost half the price. Only thing was that when I was looking online none of the sites/ads for the cameras specified whether or not it had an A/V in capability. I didn't wanna fork out 2-300 bucks for a camera and not know if it was gonna suit my needs. Oh well, I'll just find out what camera to buy from someone who already has a helmet cam set-up and get the same one they have... :D This was the helmet cam I was gonna buy before I had such a tough time finding the camera to record to. http://www.bulletcam.com/products.htm

I'm using a sony trv330. Look up trv330 on ebay. I paid like 800 for mine a couple years back when it first came out. You can get them used all day long with extras for it used by some dude that bought it and never used it all day long for like 250-300 dollars. Just wait for a decent ad to come along.
