b_a_n_s_h_e_e Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 Hey all! Just a quick question...When you advance your timing say 4 degrees, does that make it fire when it's closer to TDC or futher away? Just Wondering... -Troy Quote
b_a_n_s_h_e_e Posted December 20, 2003 Author Report Posted December 20, 2003 I know it fires "B4 TDC" but when you advance it, does it make it fire a little bit closer or a little bit farther from TDC. Quote
banshee2sick Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 Your question isnt worded very well, as far and near could be relative to both after and before the TDC. I meant +4 would move it farther before top dead center. Timing Advance The angle, in degrees, between the crankshaft position where a spark plug fires and where its associated piston reaches top dead center. Quote
b_a_n_s_h_e_e Posted December 20, 2003 Author Report Posted December 20, 2003 Thanks... I know the question wasn't worded very well, but it's kind of hard to explain it any other way... Quote
