Stolen Atv's

Hey all,

Is there somewhere on the web to run serial #'s for ATV's and check if they're stolen?

There was a guy on Ebay selling an 89 Banshee frame. He claimed that there were no titles for them in 89. I thought they started titles in mid 87. Anyways, if I were to buy, actually before buying the frame, I would want to check the #'s so that it was not my butt in the sling.

Also, a buddy of mine has an 86 250R that he bought. Never titled. How would you check to see if it was stolen?

Ive been told that you just call the police and tell them you want to see if something is stolen or whatever then give them the number. Wonder if car-fax would work?

I dont know if thats the way to do it or not, thats just what ive been told.
