bigtreads Posted December 18, 2003 Author Report Posted December 18, 2003 Im from southern B.C. Canada - Kelowna to be exact. The area here is mostly dry clay/gravel/dirt and because our summers are roasting hot and we don't get much rain the ground get's pretty loose and powdery. We also take at least 1 trip to the Oregon dunes each year to play. I think im going to hold off on the carbs as well as porting for another year and just try the Vito's super stock pistons. See It pays to ask those who know Quote
Tim C Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 I put a set of Vito's 30mm dial-a-jet carbs on my banshee and I like them. I got them from Magic Racing for $360. They are basically a Keihin 28 bored to 30 with the dial-a-jet put on them. You can get normal Keihins a little cheaper. Quote
boonman Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 I would stay with stock carbs. They will be the best for your motor. You are runnign the exact same setup as my bike. Minus the pipes. Same jetting specs though. I really don't think you would benefit from aftermarket carbs. What Size Carbs Will Give Me The Best Bang For $ Your stockers are the best bang for the buck. They are already there!!!!! And they will work fine. But, when the time comes, I have a set of Mikuni 30's that I will part with if you must have them..... Quote
Banchetta Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Save your money... I have PTR mids, head mods w/ 165psi, boysen petals, +4 timing, and polished cylinders. I tried 34mm PJ's and lost 8hp and also tried bored stock carbs and lost 2hp across the whole curve.....From what I've seen, I'd like to try a 2 into one setup.....BTW, I also tried the ported stock carbs and ported reed cages and still no gain....Let me know if you try a 2 into 1 setup, I'm very curious... bigtreads Posted December 19, 2003 Author Report Posted December 19, 2003 yep I'll keep you posted but same goes for you if you try a 2 into 1 before me Quote
