iTeach Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 Hello Banshee Community, I’m sending my engine to redline for a rebuild. However, I’m not to sure the route I should go. Whether 4mil? Etc. I would like to run pump gas, and an OEM CDI. I’m flexible on the carbs. Also reliability is my first and last priority. I go to the trails often a lot of hills, therefore low end-mid power is important. Any suggestion and advice is welcomed. Thank you. Quote
pp13bnos Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 You need to tell Cam your goals. Like I've posted before, He's a bit fruity, but knows his stuff about building a motor. Quote
HomesteadBanshee Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 I was on the same fence until I did some math and compared price on going stock cyl 4 mil or using driveline Cylinder kit and I honestly Did the math I would rather just order the driveline kit and spend the extra money .Which isn’t a lot Of a difference ,if you need to port and bore and order new piston for your stock cylinder.im going to a driveline kit .For that reason i get a 421 cylinder kit for just about a bit more than reusing and restoring my stock cylinders. HomesteadBanshee Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 But you can’t go wrong with cam or anything he does I was gonna send out my motor to him if I stayed stock cylinder, but once I get bored of the driveline power I’ll send the driveline cylinders to redline to get ported to see if cam can do his magic on them. iTeach Posted July 29, 2020 Author Report Posted July 29, 2020 Or I was thinking about going all OEM. OEM crank and all. And call it a day. Quote

SandSlingerOR Posted July 29, 2020 Report Posted July 29, 2020 Banshees are pretty reliable in any form. If low end is your need go with a 4mil build by cam. Quote
gusto Posted July 29, 2020 Report Posted July 29, 2020 I would look hard at a welded stock crank with a DriveLine 392 top end. Cheap and with the right pipe your in the 70 hp range Quote
iTeach Posted July 30, 2020 Author Report Posted July 30, 2020 I’m running FMF’s fattys. It looks I’ll prolly go with a stock ported cylinder 4mil. But keep the opinions running!! Quote
