Ruko Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 What's the deal with these shortened swingarms giving you a better holeshot?? Is it like the old altered drag cars that moved there rear axels forward to get better wieght transfer?? If so wy do all the drag banshees have extended swingarms instead?? Would it work to run a shorter swingarm and then a wheelie bar to keep the front end down?? Quote
Blue Duece Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 i wouldnt think so for sand dragging....but if your riding in the dirt yes it will hook better Quote
Screamin_Banshee Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 Get it as short as possible, for maximum traction... Only prob that I have seen is with the short ones it tends to SLAM back on the wheelie bar, unloading the rear tires causing loss of traction. One of those things you have to watch and learn, ask around etc etc.. I run a +6 w/ a 6ft wheelie bar and have no probs unloading my rear tires. Quote
Ruko Posted December 12, 2003 Author Report Posted December 12, 2003 if you want it a short as possible wy are you running a +6?? Quote
Screamin_Banshee Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 I am runnin a +6 ONE because I got a smokin deal on it, couldnt pass it up. TWO I was trying to run without one for a while, but had probs with the bike trying to flip over on me, so ended up goind w/ a wheelie bar instead of a longer swingarm. Trust me, the combintation I have works wonders for me... Quote
