Well I guess the ? is now where to drill the holes in the frame? With out comprimising the strength. What about water, if moisture gets in the tubes it might rust from the inside out, you guys think a dab of silicone around the hole after the wires are ran will work?

Just drill as small a hole as possible. If you ride in wet areas, don't do it. Get a step bit, it is easer to control and you can drill progressively smaller holes as you work to the individual accessories on your bike. Make a new harness with higher quality wire. Eliminate all clips as they will become disconected as you pull through.

Drill all holes on the bottom side of your frame. Also, drill tiny drain holes in all areas that water will collect. Rust sucks. Do not use silicone. Use rubber wiring loom grommets like the ones that are in the door seals of any newer vehicle. All auto parts stures carry a bunch of diffrent sizes. Yes, it is true that in frame wiring will pimp out your Shee, but it is a lot of work. You can accomplish the same look with some split loom, but the ooh factor is not as great as with in-frame.

Sad as it is... the frame itself isn't exaclty water proof, so drilling holes shouldn't affect much. If you've ever lost a bolt off of something that bolted to the frame.... it's gotten water in it before. As long as you make the holes facing down, and use silicon, or the gromets, you should be ok for just regular riding.

My thoughts are don't do it unless you're considering making it a show quad. Too much work just to make it look good while riding. I'd stick with the colored wire looms. They're enough work in themselves with trying to get wires to stay in them long enough to get more in them, but they're a lot less work than drilling holes and risking getting something wired wrong and having to rip everything out to fix it.

I agree. At some point you need to weigh appearance versus functionality. Is it really worth that much pain to you?

Hey, i just finished mine today. For all the work it toke, it dont look that great. Cuz it has to run from ur handlebars, to ur mag, then to the cdi in the bac. so, even afterwards, i still have wires showing. Maby i just dont know how to do it right, but it toke me like 4 hours. And it looks ok. It did slove the wires bein in my way though, and that is the best part from my point of view. Just my experience. Peace out
