i heard yes you can.  ive known some people that dont even run em. you can get an oring from the hard ware store and piece it in there with some yamabond

Rumor has it if you buy another one it will stretch over the web and you can replace it. I've also heard of people running without them.

I just don't want pre mature failure or dirt to get in there. This guy I won't name used rtv to seal the case and no bolts were tight. Almost blew the motor

Entire new gaskets for the motor, cylinders, intake, exhaust, filters, bearings. You name it, I'm replacing it.

It's a 034 series oring. You stretch it over and be done with it.

If it was me, I would put a new o-ring on it. Yamabond would hold in place yes, but, the way the cases are machined that(yamabond), even only if a couple thou thick, will change the tolerance on the cases to bearing(causing air leaks and other stupid stuff) not to mention if you put to much when you torque the cases you will have that shit in the bearing.. and running no pin stop or o-ring is a bad idea also. It will cause chatter and you will be looking for new cases. The cases(alum) heat up faster than the steel so in turn will try and spin the bearings in the case of nothing is retaining it.. JMO
