Looking at a 1911, want something pretty that I can fuck off rounds at the cabin with.

So far I have on my list:

STI

Les Baer

Kimber

Wilson Combat

I'd like to get some opinions on what else I should be looking at, if anything? Also, I was thinking of going .45ACP, but would be open to other calibers above 9mm

Stay away from new Kimber stuff.

Sig with the fastback grip is by far my favorite 1911's out, but the purists hate them because they changed the extractor

Anyone have reviews on Coonan?

Also, I’ll never buy another 22. We have so many of the stupid things. We give them to people we have up that have never shot. That’s about all they’re good for IMO.

May as well go 10mm or .38Super while your going big money.  I'd love to go with either of those calibers, but it would get too expensive after several thousand rounds a year.

Everyone is telling to stay away from 10mm for a few reasons. One was ammo availability, and two was size of the gun. I guess it’s longer due to shell size or something. I dunno. I thought about it and am still open to that

The Coonan .357 can shoot 38’s as well.
