Dragg-on Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 If it were me..... Yes! I would part out ONLY if I plan to sell on e bay, your parts there will sell like HOTCAKES! Quote
SANDSTAR Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 If it runs good, you should get 3000 for all that stuff you got done to it. If it's beat, part it out. Just take good pics and sell as-is. Quote
NYUK Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 start it on e bay on a sunday and end it on e bay on a sunday. more people are home and will see your auctions. you should make more than 3 g`s depending on the amount of aftermarket stuff you have.i m looking for a bottom end. whatchu want for it? bignasty1 Posted December 8, 2003 Author Report Posted December 8, 2003 sorry for the list of questions but i got a few i know you guys could help me out on. would my stuff really sell that fast on ebay? what happens if it doesnt sell do they charge me anything and if the part does sell how much do they charge do they go by percentage rates? and shipping the frame would be my only biggie how would i go about that? i know i could easlily get 3 out of my bike but i dont have the patience and i am willing to loose a lil if i could sell it quickly wither it be part by part or the whole thing so i can get my mustang project going and have a fun car to drive. it hasnt been beat and its one of the cleaner 87s i can find around here most the newer bikes i have seen arent in as good as shape of mine but thats also cuz the just didnt go through a frame up rebuild. fel0n Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 If I were you, I wouldn't part out the bike, I would just sell it as is. If your looking for quick cash, then selling the bike whole is surely much faster than parting it out. Much less work too. I had a 1999 400ex, and I was thinking about parting the bike out, but then I placed an ad for it on a local dealerships website, and was offered 4,500 for it , Quote
bignasty1 Posted December 8, 2003 Author Report Posted December 8, 2003 yeh when i say quick tho i mean prolly by like january or febuary sometime so its not really a rush job and any money that gets to me quicker the better cuz i plan on buy the car here in a few weeks so every lil bit helps, i dont mind taking it apart i am starting to price out my parts and it looks like i may get a lil more than 3 out of it i could be wrong tho i guess it depends i am gonna have to wait a week b4 i touch it its gonna be a busy week at work so i wont have time to ride touch clean take apart or what ever so i guess i got plenty of time to think about it. but as of right now its for sale on here and trader online. bignasty1 Posted December 9, 2003 Author Report Posted December 9, 2003 well i told a buddy of mine at work today that my bike was for sale and he said he wanted it. and theres a catch that makes me a lil happy he said he wouldnt be able to buy it till january when our company gives out christmas bonuses so i have a few more weeks with my baby. he's going to come over friday to make a offer that we will stick with till bonuses get to us he just wants to ride it first but he garuntees me that he will buy it. it sux but its cool at the same time cuz i have a lil more time to ride it and its getting sold to someone i know will take as good care of it as i have and it wont be beat to death and left for dead. i'm gonna mis it but i'll enjo it while i can. l8ter Quote
Wallrat Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 A used 5.0? Ugh! My advice is to buy a semi-new toyota or nissan 2WD pickup for about one-third of what the stang is going for. The money you'll save on maintenance alone will be enough to buy a new shee. Seriously, I had one of those P.O.S. 5.0's. It pissed me off because all sorts of stupid crap on it would break - I mean stuff that should last the life of the vehicle, like dome lights and crap like that. Then my transmission BLEW THE f*ck UP at 72k miles! I totally babied this car so its not like it was mistreated. I've personally known 4 people that have had the trannies die on their fords at less than 90k miles, one was in 600 miles. They're built like shit. I replaced the water pump 3 times before that 72k miles, the alternator once. My next car was a 4x4 toyota p/u. It had 189k on it when I sold it and the only thing I'd had to replace was the battery, brakes, clutch, and tires. Quote
2001 929 Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 DEFINATELY TRY TO SELL THE BIKE ALL TOGETHER, I AM CURRENTLY PARTING OUT A '98 BANSHEE, IF YOU PLAN ON PARTING DONT DO IT HERE CUZ "SOME PEOPLE" DONT WANT TO GIVE YOU SHIT FOR YOUR PARTS. Quote
