My dad didnt, now he cant ride all the places that i can, his just dies out. But it does save a lot of weight w/ out it. I ordered mine from rocky mountain, and one from my local dealer(had one on the shelf). I just bolted the plate t the stock box, rather then spendin the money for a new plate-works god for me. Take the top off, unless u ride a lot of water. Just my experience. Peace out. Quote
