SlowMoe Posted February 6, 2017 Author Report Posted February 6, 2017 SO the big question is, do I need to obtain a zero deck height befor thinking about domes? If I remember correctly this is a zero deck height engine, correct? If so I can figure how to get there. Should be a 1.5m spacer and (2) .020" gaskets Quote
SlowMoe Posted February 6, 2017 Author Report Posted February 6, 2017 (edited) Not even close. Uccr is volume at bdc/volume at tdc. So the 64.5mm bore x 58mm is 379cc. Divide by 2 is 189.5cc. Now add 18cc to that is 207.5cc. Divide by 18cc give you around a 11.5 uccr. Then you have to look at the car, this is the trapped volume when the exhaust port closes divided by volume at tdc. Many things to look Thanks for the help brother. Just curious why did you divide by 2? So is 11.5 too much for race gas? Hell I might just get pump gas domes cut I dont think i have enough paddle to even use the extra HP (9 paddle haulers) Edited February 6, 2017 by SlowMoe Quote
hercalmighty Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 Honestly you should worry aabout your port heights first and what combo of gaskets/spacers you will need to get that. Then measure your deck height and have domes cut for your fuel and squish Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk 2 Quote

But if not yes this is the route I will take Quote
blowit Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 What kind of durations are you looking for? I think you might want to reassess your math on this build. There are a few concerns here. However, trying is learning. Mull Engineering Quote
registered user Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 he doesnt know what he looking for. thats why hes just gonna mimic the drivelines. i caution newbs from copying because the parameters of two different cylinders may not be even remotely similar. but like you say, trying is learning.... hopefully Quote

SlowMoe Posted February 10, 2017 Author Report Posted February 10, 2017 I have a degree wheel and an array of gaskets and soon to be a spacer on the way. I will figure it out lol. And I'm not necessarily trying to exactly mirror a driveline cylinder. I'm pretty sure anywhere from 124-128 transfer and 195-200 exhaust will run to my liking. Yes I realize it will be a light switch powerband Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
blowit Posted February 10, 2017 Report Posted February 10, 2017 Let me ask this, did you determine your target port heights by using your timing wheel on your current engine and adding marks in the cylinders where you want to be? 1 Quote
SlowMoe Posted February 11, 2017 Author Report Posted February 11, 2017 I timed it today. It is at 180/124. I'm wondering if I should leave the transfer duration as is and only go for about 192-194 on the exhaust. Not sure what cpi pipes like, may call cpi monday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
bigweav81 Posted February 11, 2017 Report Posted February 11, 2017 Depends what you wanna do with it. I know 196*ex 130*trans.....wasn't what I was looking for, but I learned from it lol. Start out with 192*, and you can always remove more. Sent from my SM-S820L using Tapatalk Quote
SlowMoe Posted February 11, 2017 Author Report Posted February 11, 2017 Yeah I bet with a spacer and another gasket my transfer duration will be at least 130. Wonder how that affects power delivery compared to a 124 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
sleeper06 Posted February 12, 2017 Report Posted February 12, 2017 I personally like a high blowdown engine. I would leave the transfer roofs alone, lower the floors to bdc. Put ex between 194-196 . Use the ex port shape we talked about and you'll have a nice engine wit good power delivery that pulls gear effectively after peak rpm/hp Quote
