Hard2atcep2 Posted September 3, 2016 Report Posted September 3, 2016 Looking for imput building a 421 banshee waiting on frame from powder coating shop have already got engine back from hjr just buying everything else to be ready in ride a lot of open fields very few tight trails love riding high speed wheelies but high speeds to any suggestions on sprocket size Quote
old put-put Posted September 4, 2016 Report Posted September 4, 2016 17/38 on my 421 cub HJR drag ported, and unless you're on pavement it still blows the tires off. That's with +6 swinger. It really kinda depends on what port work was done and what other mods you have. Quote
Hard2atcep2 Posted September 4, 2016 Author Report Posted September 4, 2016 +4 swinger. Had a play port done with case porting and pro mod trans. Setup for pump gas and running 34 pjs Quote
old put-put Posted September 4, 2016 Report Posted September 4, 2016 I've got a trail /play banshee that does well with 15/39 gearing that is still 347 cc with stock jugs no port work, just bolt on stuff. Quote
Hard2atcep2 Posted September 4, 2016 Author Report Posted September 4, 2016 Just curious as to how hard the cub hits comparedo to my last two drag port stock stroke shees I'll probably order the 17/38 1 Quote
RagunCajun Posted September 4, 2016 Report Posted September 4, 2016 It really depends on tire size and what you like. My super serval makes a ton of power but the 15/41 gearing along with the 22" tires make for very long and fast(mph) gears. The +6 i have sucks for wheelies and handling. Id try whatever gearing yo have and go from there. Quote
Hard2atcep2 Posted September 4, 2016 Author Report Posted September 4, 2016 I went with the kenda 20x11 xcr I definitely don't want these 450 dirtbikes walking me down though. Thanks for imput on swinger I was not sure if I made the right decision with +4 glad I did Quote

old put-put Posted September 5, 2016 Report Posted September 5, 2016 I'm not sure how yours will do with 17/38 mine is drag ported. It idles in first gear around 10/15 mph, not really a trail friendly setup with +6 swinger and very violent (for lack of a better term) acceleration. Quote
Hard2atcep2 Posted September 5, 2016 Author Report Posted September 5, 2016 Kevin has definitely talked it up its like waiting on Christmas morning I'm dying to turn it lose Quote
old put-put Posted September 5, 2016 Report Posted September 5, 2016 You will not be disappointed with his engine build. Quote
old put-put Posted September 5, 2016 Report Posted September 5, 2016 I'm running 20x11x10 tires as well. Quote
Hard2atcep2 Posted September 5, 2016 Author Report Posted September 5, 2016 Sweet I'll post video or pics soon as I get frame back Quote
