Works shocks

So nephew bought a pair of used works shocks...probably the stiffest pair ive ever seen...im 260lbs and dropping that bike from a wheelie it doesnt give at all to be honest hitting any kind of a hole at high speed would scare the fuck out of me

 

They feel like there set up for a 500lb rider...how much does it usually cost to rework a set to your weight and riding style??

First thing I would try is reducing pre-load, that's free

Works quoted me $350 to re-built, re-valve, and re-spring a set one time. Not worth it to me for $500 (new) shocks

Damn 350 gotta be someone who does this cheaper i called works and they told me the same...i was hoping there was someone else who would do it for a more reasonable price

There probably is a place that will do it cheaper, but I'm saving the money I would spend in repairing these and putting it toward new, better shocks.

$483 brand new works dual rate from atv galaxy. Are you running them on stock a arms? Maybe they were set up for wider a arms.
