JARE77 Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Has anyone ever welded a round housing carrier from a 250r onto a banshee swingarm? I have the parts, Just curious how well it would work out, or if it is even worth it. What do you guys think? How would I be able to use my X-33 axle? Quote
txblueshee Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 ALOT....AAAALLLLOOTTT Of guys have done it. One that comes to mind that has pics of it is boonman....I'm sure he'll chime in here. Whether or not you can use your axle, boon can asnwer that for you. Mike Quote
JARE77 Posted December 3, 2003 Author Report Posted December 3, 2003 I dont think Boonman cut the carrier off of a 250r swingarm first though. I guess it cant be much diiferent. Wasnt it alloy dan that made some up? Would I be better off to get one of those if they are still available? Quote
JARE77 Posted December 4, 2003 Author Report Posted December 4, 2003 Sooooo nobody can give me a little insight on this!! I cant be the only one that has thought of doing this! Am I? Quote
boonman Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 You could do it. However, which axle is the X-33 axle for? The shee, or the 250R?? I used a banshee lonestar axle, and a banshee round style carrier. The two are not interchangeable, (between the R and the shee.) Here is a link to the thread I just posted in. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18576 There are some pics. WHat more do you want to know? It is possible, however, keep in mind, you will then have to use 250R wheels on it as the bolt pattern will be different. Quote
SCOTT PRESSLEY Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 HOW EVER YOU WILL HAVE TO RUN 250R WHELLS Banshees and ex's and r's run a 41 spline axle and the hubs will interchange ,the only thing you have to do to run shee hub on a honda axle is put the washer behind the hub to make it as wide as the honda hub. A friend of mine runs shee hub on his 400.Also Lonestar makes a hub to run shee wheels on a honda axle part # LS12-221 local shop has them priced at 150.00 a set Quote
JARE77 Posted December 5, 2003 Author Report Posted December 5, 2003 Thanks guys! The axle is for the shee and I have the durablue Hubs aswell. Im pretty sure that it will accept a honda hub but it would be the sprocket hub and brake disc I would be concerned about, and also the fit in the bearings and carrier itself. Maybe a Honda axle would be in order. Thats just wrong isnt it? Converting to honda parts, Dohh. I guess theres only one real way to find out, thats try it. Quote
boonman Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 Just make sure you line up the sprocket and all. You will have to run honda brakes as well. And scott, thanks for the info on the axle spline!!!!!!! Quote
