barry1me Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 Im looking to do my first rebuild on my 06 SE. I spoke to RDZ today and he said that he can do a very useable fun stock bore and stroke build that will make 80hp. VF4 reeds, his $550 port work, cut head, and timing plate, and CPI pipes. Im curious if anyone has done this build before, and if so how do you like the power, reliability. Quote
dailydrifter Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 I'm sure someone with a lot more knowledge then me will chime in but I don't think 80hp is achievable on stock bore and stroke. Maybe with a lot of compression and high octane fuel? Quote
special06shee Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 What type of fuel? The hp number is not the concern, its the whole usable hp that id highly doubt. I had a 4mil stock cylinder(385) that made 71hp, and there was zero usable power. It was either on or off. Quote
SandSlingerOR Posted March 29, 2016 Report Posted March 29, 2016 Yeah my buddy had a 75hp stock stroke drag ported stock cylinder banshee & it was a terrible dunner on / off no low end at all Quote
sheerider11 Posted March 29, 2016 Report Posted March 29, 2016 Hmmmmmmmm I have an 80hp useable bike. I trail mine only. Mines a 4 mil tho. I have a lot of fun on my bike. I can lug it around pretty low and still scream up top. I wouldn't use rdz with all his shit feedback tho. Quote

I only hear good thing about sleepers work. There was only one banshee i ever rode that had (imo) good usable power, that was lms's 10serval he did. Quote

Big Mike NY Posted March 29, 2016 Report Posted March 29, 2016 I'm at 75hp on the setup Sleeper06 built me, and the only thing holding me back from the 80hp mark is my stock carbs. My power is def usable in the trails, up hills, coming into and out of berms. I couldn't be happier! This was just an "in between" build Sleeper06 built me. The next motor he's building me is a 10 mil with Driveline cylinders. Hopefully start by June with that build! Quote
barry1me Posted March 29, 2016 Author Report Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) he made mention this was with stock carbs, and didnt mention race fuel. So I assume pump gas. Over the phone I was not impressed with his demeanor, I got the feeling that I was more of an annoyance then a customer. He said he has a 4 month back log on doing engines. His son does everything minus the porting and if I went that route he could do it in less then a month. He said his porting doesnt look pretty but no one makes power like he does. Big Mike NY Posted March 29, 2016 Report Posted March 29, 2016 Do your self s favor, contact Sleeper06, he will build you exactly what you want no bullshit, and he really really knows what he's doing!!!! Straight forward no bullshit! And he can build a mean fucking motor! Quote
barry1me Posted March 29, 2016 Author Report Posted March 29, 2016 why so much hate towards RDZ? Im new to the Banshee world. Also he said my trinity stage 4 pipes suck and that I should do CPI...is this true? Quote
SandSlingerOR Posted March 29, 2016 Report Posted March 29, 2016 CPI's are really good pipes, but people are finding out that the Trinity's are no longer a terrible choice for a play motor. Quote
