tyler_broder Posted January 8, 2016 Report Posted January 8, 2016 Hey guys I'm new to this forum and I was hoping someone on here could help me? I have a 97 banshee that was rebuilt fully 2years ago. The last time I rode was the fall/15 and the last ride. It bogged right down and had no power, so I parked it till I had time to work on it jan/16 and I figured out there wasn't much spark only every 3 or 4. Kicks so I changed the coil and no difference so I changed the cdi to a dynatek fs and lots of spark and starts 1 or 2kicks but when I Rev it mid to full throttle it boggs right down and no power. I changed th jets from 240 to 200 a back I also changed the needle from mid to top and bottom and back I played with the idle air and needle screw and no difference compression is 120 both sides. It's also smoking more than it was in the fall and also spitting out browish black oil from t exausht so I pulled the heads and the gaskets and everything Is fine? Can anybody help me solve what Is causeing the bogging in the mid to high rpm? Any help would be very much appricate. I mis 40:1 she'll prem like always my plugs are a little blackish. The shee starts and ideals perfect piliots jets 25 Quote
Bennett131 Posted January 8, 2016 Report Posted January 8, 2016 Are they stock carbs? What are your mods? 200 I belive is the stock main jet size, so if you have any pipes or anything like that it is now way lean. Quote
tyler_broder Posted January 8, 2016 Author Report Posted January 8, 2016 Stock carbs a 240 , a 25 piliot I'm also located in cold lake alberta. The 240 main jets worked perfect all summer long dark brown plugs. Stock pipes Quote
Bennett131 Posted January 8, 2016 Report Posted January 8, 2016 Well since it's cold out right now, it makes more sense to go up in jets not down. Quote
tyler_broder Posted January 9, 2016 Author Report Posted January 9, 2016 I. Adjusted the needle jet to the richest and it still doesn't help at all. Quote
tyler_broder Posted January 9, 2016 Author Report Posted January 9, 2016 The mid to full throttle is still bogging right down Quote
tyler_broder Posted January 10, 2016 Author Report Posted January 10, 2016 Does anyone have any ideas? Quote
bigweav81 Posted January 10, 2016 Report Posted January 10, 2016 Have you messed with your needle position? sent from yo mammy house. Quote
tyler_broder Posted January 10, 2016 Author Report Posted January 10, 2016 I adjusted the needle from the middle to the top and to the bottom I also changed the jets from 240 to 230 220 210 200 I also adjusted the ideal screw air screw and needle screw and no real change! I tryed all the combinations of jets. To needle postion Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted January 10, 2016 Report Posted January 10, 2016 Go up in jet size when it gets colder, not down in jet size. Cold air is denser than hot air, so it requires MORE fuel, not less. 1 Quote
sleeper06 Posted January 10, 2016 Report Posted January 10, 2016 Does it only do it under load or does it do it just sitting there Quote

dsnellgrove241 Posted January 10, 2016 Report Posted January 10, 2016 I had this same problem with the cold air I had to go up in jets to 310 mains and 27.5 pilots runs like a champ Sent from my SM-G928T using Tapatalk Quote
