If you're in a tight spot, put some 1211 or Yamabond around it to get you by until the new seal shows up.

Has anyone had luck with doing it with the kicker assembly still on?

Because if I have to pull the cover, I'm gonna just pull the engine and go through everything. I don't want to do that.

^^^he's going to have to. I'm sure he doesn't want to either.

You should be fine. I've replaced seals where the shift shaft comes through without removing anything on dirtbikes, also the kick start seals. I don't see why it would be any different.

I'm just wondering if anyone has. I don't mind stabbing the old one with a pick. Just want to make sure others had have good luck

I did mine a couple a weeks ago still all assembled. A little motion lotion and it went right in. No leaks.
