Chukkinsod Posted December 4, 2015 Report Posted December 4, 2015 I learned the hard way that there are two different sized ends to Pingle petcock. The hole in my drag tank looks like 3/8 but the Pingle I got has 1/4 threaded. I was just going to insert a reducer so it will thread into my tank. Anyone know what type fitting is not corrosive with Alchy? Not sure if it will corrode brass. Quote
Chukkinsod Posted December 5, 2015 Author Report Posted December 5, 2015 Got it to work with reducer but one side of pingle leaking when valve closed in off position....looks like its off to them for a rebuild. Quote
sleeper06 Posted December 6, 2015 Report Posted December 6, 2015 The brass barbs pull out fairly easy , there's an o ring behind there might be able to find one local and fix . Quote
Chukkinsod Posted December 7, 2015 Author Report Posted December 7, 2015 I was wondering how it came apart ..was not sure if the center pulled out when lockwasher was removed. So basically pull the barb out replace washer press barb back in. Seals on one side...leaks slightly on other assumed this was basically a ball valve. Quote
sleeper06 Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 The ball valve seals against and oring they come apart pretty easy Quote
Chukkinsod Posted December 8, 2015 Author Report Posted December 8, 2015 Thanks for the help sleeper. Is the brass an NPT fitting (twist off) or is it just a barb (pull out) I am going to fix it or break it this weekend! If I find o rings local ...ill post where and what size/part number. Quote
Chukkinsod Posted December 10, 2015 Author Report Posted December 10, 2015 Pulled it apart and found an oring twisted in the 90 degree barb fitting. Surprised that the 90 was just pressed in no threads so pulled apart replaced oring pressed back in with vise...good to go. Just a viton brow oring in there on each side sealing the ball valve. Thanks for the help! Quote
Chukkinsod Posted February 16, 2019 Author Report Posted February 16, 2019 Update: o rings are brown viton 10.4mm od 5.6mm id 2.4 c/s Quote
