SilverBullit Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Hey guys, I was wondering if the Trinity 420 Big Bore kit was any good. I believe that it comes with pistons, sleeves, crank, pins, bearrings, and gaskets. I think that where asking around 799.99. Curtis Quote
davidj5491 Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Personally, I wouldn't get the Trinity 420BB. I raced one last year with my stock 350, CPI's, and degree key, and beat him in a 200ft drag. If you're wanting to spend about $800, I feel like you'd be happier with a good port job, and an aftermarket head. Quote
Daren Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 I've seen 420s that run and some that don't. It depends on how well they are tuned. I am impressed with the way that my 420 runs, but it can't show its full potential draggin' because I don't run a longer swingarm. As a matter of fact, I run a completely stock chassis. Mine is a Trinity Stage III, 33 PWK's, and I've run 4.8's in 300ft (stock tranny also). I think that is pretty quick considering what it is. In a 200ft drag, someone without as much power can beat you if they get off the line a lot better. Just like a turbo DS. Awesome power but gets beat because he can't keep the front end down. Besides, most drags run well in excess of 200ft. I guess what I'm saying is that the 420s can run. But expect to put a longer swingarm on it, otherwise someone with a lengthened modified 350 can beat you. Daren Quote
richwuest Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Also, if you do a 420 kit, i think you need to also spend some more to give it a good port job to realize its potential. A 420 without port work will have trouble with ported 350s. But if you have a 420 properly ported, then you should be faster than a 350 ported the same. Quote
