gunner88 Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 Blew the top end in my banshee. Right side piston is demolished. Not sure if its been blown or bored before, I just picked it up a few months ago. Is there marks on the top of the pistons to indicate the size? Also should I split my case to remove the small pieces of aluminum from the piston? Quote
Larry's Shee Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 Yes (maybe) on the split. Have it measured for out of round and taper. If more than half accepable tolerance, bore it. Quote
98_sheester Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 Yup if its stock piston should start with a "513" but if you can put that number on here we can tell you the piston size Quote
camp0429 Posted May 19, 2015 Report Posted May 19, 2015 If your keepin it, I would send crank and cylinders to builder of your choice, let them tell you if your crank needs work and what needs to happen with your cylinders. Be a good time to port it if it aint already Quote

gunner88 Posted May 20, 2015 Author Report Posted May 20, 2015 (edited) Garbage! I poured the rest of the piston out of the pipe Edited May 20, 2015 by gunner88 Quote
n2otoofast4u Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 Split that motor! Do not half ass it from here. True/weld/bore/reassemble.... trying to go cheap will cost you more. Quote
gunner88 Posted May 20, 2015 Author Report Posted May 20, 2015 Right a treasure hunt. I wanted to avoid splitting the case until this winter. Mainly because I don't know what I'm getting in to. Probably not a good tho Quote
