OK, i'm looking at a yamaha 450 to buy. now,i know its costly, but i really want it. Do any of you guys think its a bad idea? Or whats really better to buy? I will be ridin' it anywhere and everywhere i can. Any suggestions or idea to help me pick out a good machine to ride? Thanks!

the yfzs are nice quads and very fast but it of corse i think you like every rider should have a banshee if you plan on doing any mods but if you dont like working on things i would look into 4-strokes

I want a YFZ450 bad, but I think Im gonna wait. It looks like it an 01 raptor tranny situation all over again. Check out YFZcentral, they are trying to collect vin #'s of bikes with major shifting problems. Plus I know a tech at my local Yamaha, and guess what, service is full of 450's with tranny problems.

Sucks, I already got a deal worked out ($7180 OTD) which is a good deal, but now Im having secound thoughts!

same here....im having a hard time choosing between the 450r or the yfz450.but i kinda like the r's price and specs a lil better, but before i buy one i gotta sit on it or ride it to get the feel of sittin on them two 450 cannindale wannabes like i said in another topic those 450's are m preped also i hate that hard seat thoe that could be changed..anyway i would recomend the shee for it's soft seat twostroke motor and layed back pimp style feel.when i sat on da new yfz it felt like i had to stand up all the time to ride it.but since u want advice on the yfz or sumthin better i think u should wait and gun for a cannindale or get the 450r and i knoe there is ppl sayin how it's so ugly ect. but i think it looks just fine.
