sheerider11 Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 I've never rebuilt one. Do they run like dog crap when they need to be rebuiltNo. Run great. Quote
Yalec23 Posted March 3, 2015 Author Report Posted March 3, 2015 Umm… I'm not sure if your being sarcastic or not. I would think it would barely run with that low of compression Quote

Larry's Shee Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 Rebuild time. This ^^^ Didn't leak check after reeds, hurt the engine. Quote
Yalec23 Posted March 3, 2015 Author Report Posted March 3, 2015 I'm not picking up what your layin down Larry's Shee Quote
Yalec23 Posted March 4, 2015 Author Report Posted March 4, 2015 I did the compression check wrong and when I did it the right time just now, I had 150 on the left and 140 on the right. Quote
sheerider11 Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 10 off is a problem. You really should do a leak down Quote
Larry's Shee Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 When you do things to engine that could effect the "seal" of the engine you have to double check that you indeed fix it. If it can suck air anywhere but through the carbs, that's a major problem. When I did my son"s engine, I got tired of waiting after 12 hrs for it to leak a drop, LOL Quote
Yalec23 Posted March 4, 2015 Author Report Posted March 4, 2015 I'm going to check my I take boots and my reed gaskets. I have a spacer for my reeds so there's a couple more seals to check. Could be my crossover for my I take. It not quite 10 off. It was like 144 or something close to that. Why does that seem so high for stock? I am going to do a Noss head with 20cc domes so I need to check those gaskets too. I'll clean my carbs too. I have a tors eliminator kit on it way too. The first time I did it I didn't hold the throttle wide open and I kicked it once. That's where I got my first numbers. Yesterday I did it WOT and kicked it till the guage quit climbing. Quote
Yalec23 Posted March 4, 2015 Author Report Posted March 4, 2015 I can't get the sombitch started either. I've got good spark and I clean my pick up coil off and my flywheel magnets. Should it be like a credit card away from the flywheel magnets? Quote
sheerider11 Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 Stop trying to start it until you do a leakdown. Business card Quote
Yalec23 Posted March 4, 2015 Author Report Posted March 4, 2015 Alright. It started the other day. Ummm… that's pretty close. Like a paper card? Quote
Yalec23 Posted March 4, 2015 Author Report Posted March 4, 2015 Would a leak make it hard to start? I also have my timing +4 if that makes any difference. Could the TORS be causing all of the problems? Could a certain part in the carb be in the wrong carb? Quote
