What's up Banshee HQ. I am new to the forum and new to riding ATV's. I bought a blaster for my wife but I am looking to get a banshee for me. I would like to setup my bike for riding dunes and maybe trails. I have been told that banshee's are not made or suck for trail riding and to go with a 4 stroke. I really don't like 4 strokes and have wanted a banshee for some time now. Should I get a banshee and try to set it up for trails or am I just wasting my time and should get a raptor. I have driven both and love the powerband on the banshees. I don't plan on riding steep or rocky trails, mostly easy trails for mid to high speeds. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. I have found some really nice shee's on CL going for good prices and seem to have some nice aftermarket parts like + 2+3 A-Arms, extended swing arm, better carbs and exhaust ext. Thanks in advanced for the help.

Give the banshee a try. Is the chassis as moto cross ready as a new 450? No, but they are just so much more friggin fun then any 450 I've rode. There is a wealth of aftermarket stuff out there to re do just about any part you can think of.

Thanks man. They are fun to ride that's why I am choosing to get one. I have noticed that parts are endless for them.

Banshees are pretty good trail machines, I trail ride, hill climb and mud drag mine all the time with no problems, The only advise id give ya, Do Your Homework, know what your getting before you buy it, If ya gotta spend a couple bucks more on the one that's been maintained, id go that route.

ask questions before you buy, Aftermarket parts, engine work, has it been rebuilt, how big was it bored, has it had new wheel bearings, bushings replaced etc etc.

I feel its better to get one closer to stock, that way you can build it the way YOU want it instead of how someone else has it. Keep it clean and maintained and she'll never let ya down.

Thanks GRAVEL. I was thinking the same thing, I will be spending more money on getting a stock and building it how I want but I think it's worth it. I usually jump the gun when I'm this excited about something but u are so right and I need to find the right one for me.
