2strokeBEAST
Re building this motor. Started removing the clutch cover and can only get it separated about 1/2-3/4" from the case, its separating because the joint is sliding through the case.joint has not come out of the clutch cover at all, even after constant pulling. I tried using shims, lotta pressure, still wouldn't pull out. Sprayed some shyte in there too. WTF? Hacksaw? #15 in below http://fiche.worldofpowersports.com/wps/showmodel.asp?Type=18&make=yamahaatv&a=208&b=5&Action=O
2strokeBEAST
I took the clip off a while ago. Im wondering if the o ring in there has hardened. I figure I might have to just cut the joint apart and buy a new one. Edited February 9, 2015 by 2strokeBEAST
2strokeBEAST
Exactly, that clip just keeps it from pulling out of the case, not the cover. I took it off anyway. This things really pissin me off now.

willaduncan
The heater tube binds very easy and there's probably quite a bit of build up on it, use some lube and twist it while pulling should slide out. If not then cut it out and buy a new one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
trickedcarbine
Put the cover on with just a bolt or two. Then pull the elbow toward the stator side as much as possible to take out the slack. Use a dead blow punch or wood block and a mallet to try and tap it free. Whatever you do, don't pry on the cover between it and the case.
Zillaguy
Twist the tube, and pull on the cover at the same time.. i always put import grey rtv on that oring.. it may be siliconed in place.
