kryder Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 I just have a few questions about how my motor acts. One pipe gets much hotter than the other. I suspected low compression in one cylinder but my tests showed: approx 130 left and 140 right. Im not sure what spec should be. My mods are:.20 over, pro circuit in frames, dual 35mm pwks with dg uni foam pods, pro design cool head, pro design boost bottle. With my results from compression is a rebuild necessary or is this carb related. Any input is appreciated! Thank you! Quote
wayne_smith97 Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 I suspect an air leak on the hot side from the boost bottle Quote
kryder Posted January 19, 2015 Author Report Posted January 19, 2015 It is the pro design overhead bottle with the dual powerwings through carbs Quote
kryder Posted January 20, 2015 Author Report Posted January 20, 2015 Yes. 130 is the side that gets much hotter. What would be standard compression for a set up like mine? Quote
Deadbeat Posted January 20, 2015 Report Posted January 20, 2015 stock motor is around 120, but yours has had work done, 10psi is difference is pretty lopsided, you might have an airleak and the low side is burning up due to running lean (heat)...a leakdown test will source your airleak Quote
kryder Posted January 20, 2015 Author Report Posted January 20, 2015 The motor is not ported. So this is a leak rstger than rebuild issue? How you perform such test? Quote
