I do and they work great on hard packed dirt I used 5/16x1.25 bolts with washers and nylon lock nuts. They doo work and the hard ware was only 30$.

Running at Busco Beach in North Carolina. Ground is hard packed dirt. We mainly just go up there and drag race for fun. I have a 2ed set of tires id like to set up before this weekend. After doing a bunch of searching all over the internet, I think I'm going to run 3/8x1.5 bolts with washers.  How many would you say I should run in each tire? Also is grade 8 really needed or can I get away with grade 5? I'm pretty stocked up on grade 5 bolts but I can get grade 8 at the hardware store for $45

20" Ohtsus with 24 Woodys 1.25" steel snow mobile spikes with backer plates in each work well for hard pack dirt drags.  They are heavy but do the trick.  No need for tubes in the tires with plates either...they seal well.
