Round housing swing arm to hold 400ex axle? Opinions? Help on this.

Recommended Posts

First off, I've been reading this forum and lurking here for some time. This is my first post after finally joining. :)

I have been out of the banshee scene for a long time but recently have returned to the

"Dark side".

What I want to do is this.

Buy a round housing swingarm and get a carrier and mount up a 400ex axle.

What I'm not sure of is if anyone makes one to do this?

Do you have to match a carrier to the new swing arm whereas the carrier itself determines what axle will fit?

What all parts do I need to make it work?

I am running in the woods so skid plate mounts are a must.

What skid fits those things?

Why a 400ex axle? Because I have a new one from previous quad.

I CAN use the stock banshee parts if I have to.

Someone point me in the right direction please.

I have searched and read and read some more.

I appreciate any and all help on this.

Look in to the spline width on the axle and compare it to what a banshee axles. What size bearings are on it? You may be able to switch bearing diameter to make it work. All just a shot in the dark. IMO, you are already spending all that coin on a new round house set up, why not buy a new axle? Selll the 400ex stuff to off set cost.

you'll need to have the entire 400EX rear end... sprocket hub, brake hub, rotor, caliper, hubs, and wheels.

You'll then need to get a 400EX carrier and commission someone like Stellar or Turbo Chassis to build you a custom swingarm with an offset carrier so your chain lines back up.

I'd suggest just getting a Tusk axle from RMATV for $200 and sell your EX axle to recoup some cash
