Ok so I have recently been thinking about picking up my old bike from the buddy I sold it to. It needs work and it priced right. Anyways here is the thing. It's an 89 j arm and here is my idea. I have looked at both alba +2 a arms and +2 j arms. Between the a arms they have long travel and standard travel. But in j arms of course no long travel option. My question here is when I looked the uppers on the long travel vs. the standard travel were the same. So if I was to call them and have them send me plus 2 long travel lowers and the plus two upper j arms. Would that work? Being the uppers on the a arms are the same I don't see what the problem would be. Can someone help me out here?

I asked fireball a similar? About the 450 shock lower arm with j arm upper. They said no way. Has to be related to ball joint angle and binding. Or nobody has done it yet. Call alba see what they say.

i find it hard to believe the uppers on standard and long travel arms are exactly the same geo, where did you get that info

I'm wondering if alba or fireball would be willing to build an upper j arm that would work with the long travel lower arm.

Just Modify the frame to accept A-arms. I have one that was converted. good to go
