Dowel pins

Is the dowel pin on the clutch cover really important? I forgot to put it in when i polished it any imput

No. It helps support the cover while kicking it, I think, but it'll be fine. Put it back next time.

its just for alignment. no biggie

It'll help keep the water pump gear meshing well and keep the cover from mushing the O ring on the coolant tube.
