02Bansheeee Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 I've had problems when I start my banshee, it acts like it's not getting a good spark. Checked the spark and both looked fine. Now that I have pulled the stator cover, I see that there is some noticeable rust on the flywheel. Could this solve my problem if I cleaned it off, if so how do I clean it? sheerider1026 Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 No. You have another issue. Check your plug caps. Pickup gap. And also jetting. Is it an OEM or aftermarket stator? Quote
02Bansheeee Posted November 27, 2014 Author Report Posted November 27, 2014 My jetting is pretty spot on at the moment, do I measure the pick up gap from the nub? Shouldn't it be around .020 or .015? & I already trimmed the caps back 1/4. That helped a little bit. Quote
sheerider1026 Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 You may just need new caps. You trimmed the wire back? I always use a business card to set the pickup gap. Yes you set it with the nub Quote
alexmarq1986 Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 Those are very nice socks! Quote
02Bansheeee Posted November 27, 2014 Author Report Posted November 27, 2014 Thanks on the socks haha. & yeah, meant trimmed the wire. & I didn't have any business cards but the .030 gauge was able to fit in. It was pretty snug getting it in. Quote
mvvette97 Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 I would check your compression. if it's not a fuel problem and the spark looks ok then compression may be low Quote
02Bansheeee Posted November 27, 2014 Author Report Posted November 27, 2014 Compression is in the 90's, I'm gonna do a rebuild after Christmas so I guess I'll see then. Quote
