[email protected] Posted October 15, 2014 Report Posted October 15, 2014 Ok so I want to buy a rebuilt kit for my engine Was wondering what are the good quality gaskets that you would recommend ? Quote
sheerider11 Posted October 15, 2014 Report Posted October 15, 2014 send cylinders/motor to builder. have them supply you with all you need. one shipping price, and all the correct parts done right. Quote

camatv Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 cometic top end gaskets, OEM clutch cover OR cometic AFM style,. OEM crank seals OR vertex crank seals ( if they sell them seperate?) the crank seals need to have the high speed internal setups in them. lots of junk out there. if its just a bone stock rebuild. the namura top end kits aren't to bad but for a little bit more the complete wiseco setups arent bad either. i dont know if they offer a full 350cc stock stroke kit like the strokers come in? trickedcarbine Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 Have you considered some Vito's superstock pistons? Quote
ETR174 Posted October 20, 2014 Report Posted October 20, 2014 A lot of people on here including myself love running Wiseco. My bike was rebuilt 5 years ago and has about 120 hours on the motor with 125 psi each cylinder. The previous owner said it had 130 psi each after the last rebuild. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted October 20, 2014 Report Posted October 20, 2014 Weiscos or WSM. If it's a budget stocker, some Vito's super stock. Quote
[email protected] Posted October 21, 2014 Author Report Posted October 21, 2014 Ok thanks for advice ... I took the jugs off and looked at my pistons and I'm not sure if the pistons are still good or bad ?! There is no signs of ware or scratches inside the cylinder I'm not really sure what to do now help I'm new to all this sorry if I ask weird questions Quote
camatv Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 that sir is whats called blow by. all that black under the rings is where the flame front leaked past the rings and ignited along the sides.... it is the result of either a shit break in ( pussy style) or just time/ worn out top end... the only way to tell if the pistons are ok to reuse is to do a piston to wall clearance check. if your not sure how to do this it takes some specialized measuring tools. i can tell you from experience that its mostlike out or at least on the very edge of needing redone. when a bike is broke in hard the blow by is not nearly as bad. i have some motors just all of a sudden loose compression fast and it was from the failure of the rings.. ones with a lot of blow by seem to have worn rings but just no spring tension to help hold them to the walls. and most have out of round walls also.... camatv Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 also looking at the pics you have some deto or blown o-ring / coolant damage. one dome looks black as hell and other looks clean as can be? kinda hard to see for sure Quote
[email protected] Posted October 21, 2014 Author Report Posted October 21, 2014 When I took the domes out both of them were black but I cleaned one out with a reg Quote
camatv Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 no matter what i wouldnt rerun those pistons. top edges are pretty bad Quote
[email protected] Posted October 21, 2014 Author Report Posted October 21, 2014 So what do I need a new crank or a new piston ? If piston how do I determine the right size ? Quote
