I have a stock crank that I'm putting in a buddy's motor cause he blew his up, this one has a mix of oil and coolant on it though from the tear down, what can I use to get it all cleaned up ? Brake clean ok ?

Sure, as long as there's not metal chunks in the bearings, just hose it down with brake clean, carb cleaner, solvent, lacquer thinner, acetone, or whatever. Just make sure you oil the bearings before you install it.

I do what these guys are recommending. When i pull one it gets cleaned with carb or brake cleaner then soaked with wd 40. When it goes back together i coat it heavy with mix before the install.

that`ll work, keep spinning the bearings by hand, if its not not perfectly smooth its got junk in it, air can be used to dislodge that shit, if the crank is going to sit for a while before install, as said used oil or WD to stop any rust developing

DONT spin the fuck out of the bearings with compressed air, if you shatter a race you might just lose an eye

so this crank copped a bunch of deto?
