To add the several issues I have with the banshee I picked up for pretty cheap. I noticed this when buying it but thought it probably was not a huge deal since it does not look to truly support anything or is an area that would leak. I guess it just threw the chain at one point.

You got lucky. I've seen more then a handful of motors lose all the trans fluid from that break.

When I build a motor now I drill holes there.

1. for a drain

2. To give it a weak point to break an not put a tiny hole in the trans part of the case.

if it not leaking oil don't worry about it at the moment. but defiantly get it fix RIGHT tho. then also buy case saver.
