timothy kaim Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 Hello I have a03 banshee it just started leaking gas out of the left side carb it didn't do it before I haven't rode it since I tore the bike down and rebuilt I haven't touched the motor, so do u think if I ride it will it free up the float? jriffe23 Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 Sometimes a ride will free it up but sometimes you'll have to clean it. Quote
timothy kaim Posted September 10, 2014 Author Report Posted September 10, 2014 K that's what I figured I also let it run out of gas don't know if that may affect anything Thank u Quote
Bennett131 Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 The float needle could be bad too, not letting it seal up. Quote
timothy kaim Posted September 10, 2014 Author Report Posted September 10, 2014 Ok I'm going to ride it this weekend and hopefully it frees up if not I guess I'll rebuild those too Quote
BUILDER Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 Turn the gas off start the bike and run the bike until it runs the carbs dry. Then turn the fuel back on and see if it still leaks. Lots of times that that will flush out whatever is in the needle if that is the only issue. Dont sit there and rev the piss out of the bike and lean it out just let it idle and run it out of fuel. timothy kaim Posted September 10, 2014 Author Report Posted September 10, 2014 Thanks I will try when I get off work I'll let Ya know what happens Quote
trickedcarbine Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 Could try tapping it. But if a float is hanging up, it's wise to investigate why. Not assume it is free now and forget about it. Quote
timothy kaim Posted September 10, 2014 Author Report Posted September 10, 2014 I did, it was fine till I let it run out of gas?I will definitely test them down I've went this far might as we ll rebuild them, thanks for all the help! Quote
