banshee35027 Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 Has anyone successfully paint their stock rims? If so how? I want to do mine black. And no I rather not plastic dip. Quote
Bennett131 Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 No matter what kind of paint you use, if you hit something it will chip. Pc doesn't hold up too bad though. Quote
Burke Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 its going to chip like hell, so you might as well just rattlecan them so your touchups match Quote
TroyBrock Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 I painted mine with just a regular can of spray paint. Did 2 coats of primer and 4 coats of white and they came out okay. It's simple to take the paint off too. Quote
banshee35027 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Report Posted August 18, 2014 Any spray cab paint u would recommend that sticks pretty good? Quote
Drk Rider Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 The brand of paint is not as important as the prep work. the best prep would be to have them sand blasted then seal, prime, paint. Second would be a scotchbrite and rough up every nook and crannie. Then clean with dawn dish soap and water, use a self etching primer, paint. I reccomend automotive single stage, if you want rattle can then duplicolor. Quote
