Eqbanshee Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 My swingarm had like greasy dirt every wear which is impossible to get off the only way I succeeded was scrubbing which is very hard and took a very long time? Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 Bummer, this is why I will never buy a dirty bike and when people ask me to work on their banshees I charge extra to deal with filth. Honestly, I usually get by with an electric power washer and at the worst some simple green. For crazy tough shit, try renting an actual steam wand and mega jugs of simple green or even a caustic hazardous industrial grade cleaner. Check labels and know what you're using is fine for plastic and aluminum. Quote
Eqbanshee Posted August 6, 2014 Author Report Posted August 6, 2014 Yea lol my bikes clean it's just that the swing arm is dirty Quote
Deadbeat Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 i think i see some dust on the tires too brah...fukn fail Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) Ha DB..... OP, Actually that's a pretty clean ol' stocker. Edited August 6, 2014 by trickedcarbine Quote
Deadbeat Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 i agree its pretty clean, chain lube is nasty shit and will keep dirtying up the situation, take it off and completely clean it or get a new quality o-ring chain and wd40 it every couple of rides...or every ride (rides not trips) i never really thought much of it until i recently saw mx guys doing it chainlube is better i suppose but if you must have a surgically clean swingarm Quote
Eqbanshee Posted August 6, 2014 Author Report Posted August 6, 2014 Thanks! I got smoked by a all stock yfz today!? I gotta do something about that! Quote
Bennett131 Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 I have found that wd-40 and a scrub brush works pretty damn good at removing chain lube. Quote
sheerider11 Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 Make sure it's not your carrier bearings blowing apart. The bearing will leak grease and the metal will etch in to what ever it gets on Quote
