sms_banshee Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 I put together my motor and changed the oil 3 different times after just starting it up in the shop a little. Every time the oil has come out dingy looking. Is this normal? Quote
special06shee Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 What is dingy mean? Are you losing coolant? Quote
sms_banshee Posted August 2, 2014 Author Report Posted August 2, 2014 Like it is turning black. Like used oil. The thing is I havent run it but maybe 20 minutes on and off. I didnt know if that was enough to make it start turning a brownish color. I have been battling my jetting. Quote
sms_banshee Posted August 2, 2014 Author Report Posted August 2, 2014 And no im not leaking coolant Quote
BurnsideBanshee Posted August 5, 2014 Report Posted August 5, 2014 Question\>> what made you change your oil that much to start with, while jetting? Quote
sms_banshee Posted August 6, 2014 Author Report Posted August 6, 2014 I put the motor together from scratch. Wanted to get any foreign materials out. I took my clutch cover off because the adjustment screw came loose and there was a bunch of kinda gritty black stuff. Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted August 6, 2014 Report Posted August 6, 2014 I always just use diesel. Cheep and flushes out things n' stuff. Quote
sms_banshee Posted August 6, 2014 Author Report Posted August 6, 2014 I thought about that but wasnt for sure. It seems like I can hear the tranny making more noise than usual at an idol. Then again I havent heard another banshee run for 10 years. It just sounds like I can hear the gears spinning against each other more than I should. Quote
