bonedust Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 Hello guys..just registered 10min ago and here i am asking for advise. My compression is 91psi on both cyl. Im saving for serval cub 421 but that will be 2 to 3 months away. In the mean time should i buy a coolhead to bump up comp to about 150. Is that a bad idea if not then what cc size to go with to get from 91 to 150. Quote

Using domes to mask the condition is a recipe for disaster. Sent from a van down by the river Quote
#1JUANstunna Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 91 psi, I bet that's a bitch to start. Quote
bonedust Posted May 3, 2014 Author Report Posted May 3, 2014 Yeah shes hard to start cold but one kick start every time when warm. Nothing wrong with my engine she runs smooth just low on power. Sooo...bad idea? Quote
wayne_smith97 Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 Just run it as is until your ready to build Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 Or buy some vito's super stock pistons. You'll get good compression a 7 HP upgrade and can practice jetting before you drop coin on your Serval and risk learning to get good at it on a pricey motor. Quote
oldskool Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 set of rings will help, or just run it until you get your serval Quote
trickedcarbine Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 Save your cash for the serval if you're serious. There are a lot of details to tend to. 1 Quote
banshee760 Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 Buy new rings !!!!! Easy fix best money spent Quote
tdod101 Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 I wouldn't run it with that low of compression nor would I bother trying to fix it of your getting a new motor. Do you have a 4 mil crank in it now ? Just start taking it apart instead of risking damage to your cases or crank with blown apart rings or pistons. Quote
