boonman Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 Holyman can give ya the skinny on the bearings. I don't have the number list with me today. it's at home... but I know he can give the the right stuff. PM him or Email.... Quote
Holyman Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 I don't know the axle bearing numbers off hand and I just can't compete with the guys that sell theirs on ebay. They sell the Chinese/India/Mexico crap made out of our old recycled mufflers and have forced labor to make the stuff so on axle bearings, I just don't even try to sell 'em. Swingarm and A arm bearings, I'll hook you up. No matter which bearings you use, make sure you put in a grease fitting!!! It takes 10 minutes, costs less than $1 and will even help a crappy bearing last twice as long. Quote
BenBB Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 The bearings are a 6007RS, it's a sealed bearing. The seals are 62x42x8 and 62x43x8, that's the metric measurements but I think it's also the National part #...one has a larger ID than the other because the brake hub and sprocket hub are different OD. I totally agree with Holyman, put a grease zerk and a releif bolt on the carrier, remove the inner bearing seals, pump it full of grease and you're set. And he's right about the bearings, but where you're from you should have access to high-quality German bearings like SKF pretty cheap (maybe). Quote

D34 Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 pivot works kits are the only way 2 go 4 axle bearings and seals.... p/n pwrwk-y09-000... hope this helps... L8r d34 Quote
teamriot Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 When reassembling the bearings dont forget the round tube spacer that goes inside to keep the proper spacing between the bearings wheng tighten the axle lock nuts use a small amount of blue loctite. Tap the bearings in gentle dont hit the inner race only tap on the outer race same goes for the seals, Tap them at the corner not torwards the seal you'll crack the sidewall of the bearing. 1/4 round flat punch works great. Use a very high emery cloth cloth 400 maybe, very lightly polish the axle area where the inner race sits. Just take your time clean all parts and it a walk in the park. Got my gearings from Magic Racing. Good Luck Brother, Quote
