sstaton1983 Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I measured and I got 4 5/8 inches - 2/12 inches which gave me 2 1/8 inches. That equates to roughly 54 mm..witch would be stock stroke. Quote
chris_sims1981 Posted April 4, 2014 Author Report Posted April 4, 2014 Ok cool, then I was sold the wrong piston like I thought in the beginning Quote
chris_sims1981 Posted April 4, 2014 Author Report Posted April 4, 2014 the only markings on the crank was 29L and on the rod was YAMAHA on one side and 2T2 C and something else that I couldn't make out Quote
sheerider11 Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I've never seen a Yamaha stamped rod Quote
gonzodesign Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) 29L is a stock stroke and a 110 rod, 29M is a 115 rod, but a 2T2 rod is from a 1977 to 1979 RD 400 road bike and is 115 mm long Edited April 6, 2014 by gonzodesign Quote
chris_sims1981 Posted April 7, 2014 Author Report Posted April 7, 2014 29L is a stock stroke and a 110 rod, 29M is a 115 rod, but a 2T2 rod is from a 1977 to 1979 RD 400 road bike and is 115 mm long Would this make it a stroked motor? ^^ Quote
gonzodesign Posted April 7, 2014 Report Posted April 7, 2014 I was just refering to rod lengths and the odd 2T2 rod, that paticular rod has (I believe) a different oiling slot for the bottom bearing and was not intended to run as high of RPM or as hard as a Banshee is run so if thats the rod he's using it is 115mm long but may not be the best choice for a banshee. gonzodesign Posted April 17, 2014 Report Posted April 17, 2014 I found out that the 2T2 rod has a 20mm OD upper rod end where a Banshee will be 21 so a Banshee wrist pin bearing will not go in the rod you must use Yamaha RD400 bearings!! not a good scenario to be in. Quote
