should i re-ring my motor? it has 116 psi on both cylinders and it starts pretty much first kick everytime but im wondering if re-ringing it will do anything for me?

should i just throw in new rings or ? dont really wanna rebuild it...

Sounds like you made up your mind. But not the way I would go about it. A top end is basic maintenance. Do you plan on keeping the bike??

116 is fine. If the cylds are close in psi run it!

Tho Clymers (nor Yamaha FSM) lists a min or max presure, IIRC 125/130 is good on fresh rebuild. Porting, head/dome size, and elevation have an effect on cranking pressure. What are your specifics on these three points?

Not flaming, how did you perform test and what kind of tester did you use?

You could remove pipes, bring piston down far enough to reach finger in to see/check if piston has a lot of wiggle. Closer to BDC, the less you will detect.
