Smokie the two stroke Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Hey guys I finally took the dive from stock cylinders to a 421 drag ported cub block 68 mm 4 mill. My question is will my 38-36 taper bore dual power jet gravity fed lectrons be enough for this motor or am I going to lean it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you! Quote
Wildcardracing Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 What fuel? 300', dunes, hill shooting? what type of riding? Quote
Smokie the two stroke Posted February 13, 2014 Author Report Posted February 13, 2014 Alky 300 foot. Quote
RadarRacing Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 It is not the size of carbs that will lean a motor out. Properly jetted carbs flow the proper amount of fuel for the amount of air passing thru. You could use them and have no problems whatsoever as long as they are jetted correctly. 36/38s work very well on stock-4mil motors. You may gain a bit of hp by going a bit bigger on carb size but they wont hold you back much from 39-40mm carbs. Quote
Smokie the two stroke Posted February 13, 2014 Author Report Posted February 13, 2014 Alrighty thanks a million! Any suggestions on what metering rod would be best and how about jets considering lectrons don't have jets? Quote
Wildcardracing Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 too big of carbs can have a lean condition in the lower rpm's if the motor isn't able to draw enough velocity through the venturi. 35-39mm are within the correct range for a 421. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Those taper bore lectrons are bad ass. They will probably be ok gravity fed with a gutted gas cap, pinguel, and bigger bowls Quote
